GLOSSARY OF TERMS FOR SHOW DOGS

BCC: Bitch Challenge Certificate. This means the female was awarded best female at a dog show.
BIG1: Best in Group. This effectively means one of our fur kids was awarded Best of Breed Miniature Schnauzers (both sexes) and went on to beat all the diffierent breeds of dogs in what was call the "Uitlity" group.
BIG2: Best in Group 2nd. This means one of our babies was awarded the 2nd Best Show Dog against all the other Breeds and as well as the other dogs from the Best in Group winning breed.
BIS2: Best in Show 2nd aka Runner-up to Best in Show winner. This is one of the highest honour bestowed on a dog show. This translates to coming 2nd in the ENTIRE dog show which consists of 7 different individual groups of show dogs. Effectively, it means a dog has beaten hundreds and sometimes thousands of dogs on the one day! A moment to be cherished by all breeders indeed!
BJISS: Best Junior in Specialty Championship Show. The Junior class is made up of youngsters from the age of 9 to 18 months of age. To be awarded such honour, a youngster may have to compete again much older and mature dogs.
BISS1: Best in Specialty Championbship Show. This means one of the fur kids owned or bred by Rushmere Miniature Schnauzers was awarded NUMBER 1 SCHNAUZER was awarded Best of Breed in Miniature Schnauzers and went on to beat the Standard Schnauzers as well as the Giant Schnauzers.
BISS2: Runner Up Best in Specialty Championship Show. This means one of the fur kids owned or bred by Rushmere Miniature Schnauzers was awarded NUMBER 2 SCHNAUZER and translates to having been awarded Runner-Up to Best of Breed in Miniature Schnauzers and went on to beat the Best of Breed winners in Standard Schnauzers as well as the Giant Schnauzers.
Specialty shows are generally Judged by a Judge with Specialist knowledge of the breed and standard. These shows are considered the most important in any dog show calendar.
BOB: Best of Breed. This means the Miniature Schnauzer, can be either male or female, was awarded the best representation of the Breed on the day in the opinion of the Judge presiding that day.
BPISS: Best Puppy in Specialty Championship Show. Always a great honour to have one of our puppies to be awarded this. Effectively means a youngster who can be between the age of 6 to 12 months of age, was decidedly the BEST puppy, not only in the Miniature Schnauzer category, but in the whole show against the Giant Schnauzer and the Standard Schnauzer puppies.
CH: Champion. This means a show dog has been awarded sufficient points derived from the challenge certificates to qualify for the title of CHAMPION.
DCC: Dog Challenge Certificate. This means the male was awarded the best male in the male competition at a dog show.
FCI: The Fédération Cynologique Internationale was created on May 22nd, 1911 with the aim to promote and protect cynology and purebred dogs
GR.CH: Grand Champion
IMP: Import. Generally refers to a dog that has been imported from overseas.
JAP: Japan
MBIG1: Multiple Best in Group Winner. This means one of our fur kids has been recognised very highly by multiple Judges and awarded them Best in the Utility Group as being the dog that exemplies their breed standard more than any other dogs for their breeds.
RBCC: Reserve Bitch Challenge Certificate. This means the female was awarded the Number 2 female Miniature Schnauzers on the day as assessed by the Judge on that day.
Utility Group aka Group 6 in Australia, includes breeds such as Alaskan Malamute, Bernese Mountain Dog, Boxer, Bullmastiff, Dobermann, Leonberger, Newfoundand, Portuguese Water Dog, Rotweiller, Shiba Inu, Siberian Huskies, Samoyeds, Saint Bernards
